How Long Can I Take?

If you are covered by FMLA, you can take 12 weeks off for qualified family and medical reasons. Use this tool to understand if you are covered by FMLA.

Depending on which state you work in, your employer may be required to offer you a longer leave, and you may have access to paid leave.

If your employer officially offers parental leave and/or medical leave, that’s great! Read the policies in the employee handbook or your employment contract. Also, ask HR these questions to allow you to maximize your benefits.
